I contacted Tracy with the hopes that she could help me with a very intimate project in which a symbol and text were burnt onto an urn and wooden chest. Both the urn and chest were built by my husband and stepfather in memory of the son we lost after birth, so this project meant the world to us. Tracy went above and beyond what I could have ever hoped for during such a difficult project. She helped us brainstorm ideas, was incredibly detail-oriented and put as much love into the project as we did. This is a project my husband and I will cherish forever, and Tracy made this possible with her diligent effort to perfect what we had in mind. We highly recommend Tracy’s services for anyone looking for quality wood burning, and will most certainly use her services again in the future to come.

The sign Tracy made us for our bar looks great! She is great to work with and finished the (pyrography) project faster that we thought. She was very informative throughout the process. Will definitely use her services again!

Owner/Artist

In the summer of 1999, Jeff and I purchased 20 acres of bare land on Central Oregon’s High Desert. We lived an off-grid lifestyle together with our combined six kids, ages 6 – 16, for a year and a half.

During that time, I taught myself the art of pyrography (burning art and lettering onto wood or leather.) I decided to focus on wood burning because it is a very unusual hobby that most people have never heard of. Eventually, I created a website called Portland Pyrography. And that hobby turned into a small business that I have spent many years cultivating. I’ve managed to generate quite a few clients over the years.

When we moved to Texas in early 2022, I had to change the name, and that’s why my business is now called Piney Woods Pyrography.

Surprisingly, many of my clients have been those mourning a beloved family member or pet who has passed on. These dear clients hire me to handcraft special memorial portraits with a tribute that they can hang in their homes as a remembrance.

Likewise, many businesses and organizations have commissioned me to create rustic logo signs, employee recognition plaques, donor thank yous or other business art and decor needs.

My style is especially appealing to those seeking a rustic or handcrafted touch.

I can burn almost any art or lettering onto unfinished wood, vegetable-tanned leather, and some other surfaces. Please Contact Me to discuss your specific need or vision.
